Garman is committed to providing an honest and fair evaluation of your collection and can coach you through next steps.
If you build a reputation, they will come.
Over the years, Chris Garman has consulted with countless people regarding collectibles and cards, knowing that offering guidance is the way you establish relationships. “I want to educate and coach people through that process and provide a service.” Garman Sporting Auctions is part of his personal quest to be a resource, to be a guide in the collecting world, to share personal memories and stories of legends, and to honor those who collect.
“I feel like going to shops and shows, being active on eBay, and offering free evaluations and consultations has proven valuable to my business.” Garman Sporting Auctions is the next step in that process of building a network and reputation of trust within the collector community.
Some of the trusted voices in the industry over the years have become part of a great legacy. Many have retired and left the game. A new generation of collectors will look for the personal resource that we had in the past. “I hope that Garman becomes part of the future that celebrates the past through an authentic collecting experience.”

What's it worth?
Collecting is about people, not just things. For those who may have found an antique or collectible that belonged to a family member, there’s more to it than just the dollar value of the item. The item also represents the stories of the lives of people, those you loved, and in the case of sports collectibles, the heroes celebrated on the field.
For Chris, it’s also about the people he meets out on the road at shows and flea markets and in forums, and the new people who find him online and trust him to answer the big question, “What’s it worth?”
He loves hearing your stories and giving you a stage for these prized possessions.

About Chris Garman
You’ll find Jordan rookie cards on eBay today up to $25,000. But it’s not about the value. Chris says that he has certainly had more rare and valuable cards. “You never forget the first time. It’s knowing you found a fresh, raw card and you introduced it to the world stage of collecting.” For Garman, it’s also about family and community. On a family vacation in Michigan, he could share his first real find with his father, a respected collector who others turned to for advice.
“Some of my favorite childhood memories were going to Florida at Spring Training to look for rookie cards, waiting with my dad for the card stores to open, and sneaking into the desk drawer where he kept his favorite cards.”
Not Like The Others
What makes Garman Sporting Auctions unique from other auction sites? The authentic collecting experience.
There are many good online auction sites. Chris Garman chose a different path. Just as the game itself has now become driven by analytics, so too collecting has become somewhat of an online game of numbers. “I want to restore the authentic experience. I hope this website builds a community for collectors and provides a resource for hobbyists, enthusiasts, and newcomers.”
A sense of nostalgia and a longing for simpler times is part of collecting. It’s foundation is adventure, the thrill of the chase, finding a discovery at a garage sale or in a shoe box in an attic. Garman says, “This takes me back to the roots of collecting again.”

Chris Garman has built his business on the road, traveling to meet people, going to shows and flea markets, and anywhere the love of collecting leads him in search of the vintage items that are new to the world of collecting. Where are you? Let’s talk!
I love going to card shows. I love the thrill. Combining that with online is necessary in the collecting industry. I like to hold back a few special items for shows only. It makes the trip worthwhile.
